Missing my home by the sea

Sunday, 5 November 2017

When I first started university in Bath I didn't feel overly homesick. The campus is surrounded by farms and animals which actually made it feel quite homely. However, I really started to feel homesick after Christmas, when the weather started to improve and it started to actually get quite warm. Living in Cornwall, when it's hot you simply go to the beach. It's a no-brainer! Therefore, living more than half an hour away from the nearest beach proved quite the challenge. When the temperatures were reaching 20+ degrees I had no idea what to do with myself. It seemed so strange that going to the beach just wasn't an option.

Therefore, in the summer I went to the beach as much as possible and really enjoyed it. Being far away made me realise how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful place, and that I should appreciate it more when I'm home. Now that I've been back at university for about a month and a half, I'm starting to miss it again. So I decided to make this post, kind of as a homage to Cornwall!
