New Lush Products

Saturday, 9 December 2017

A few weeks ago I bought some new Lush products as I have recently decided that I want a natural skincare routine. I have struggled with my skin for a long time...I don't have a specific skin type, instead I have a combination of quite a few. Usually, my skin is oily and acne prone. However, sometimes it can be combination as well as sensitive. As you can tell, this makes it extremely difficult to find an effective skincare routine.
Therefore, I decided that having a more 'natural' skincare routine might be the best next step. I transitioned to cruelty-free makeup at the beginning of the year and I planned to use cruelty-free skincare as well. Most of my skincare is from The Body Shop, so the majority of my products were already cruelty-free. However, Lush products have always appealed to me due to the products being handmade with natural ingredients (also all the products I bought are also vegan). The products I recently picked up were Angels on Bare Skin, Tea Tree Toner Water and Cupcake.

Angels on Bare Skin (Cleanser)

The first thing I bought was this cleanser. The product claims to even out skin tone and gives the skin a healthy glow. Although I haven't noticed any of this 'glow', I have definitely noticed less redness on my face. The Lavender Oil helps to balance skin tone and is supposedly calming. This cleanser was also recommended to me because the Ground Almonds gently exfoliate the skin, helping to unclog pores (which is great for oily skin). The ingredient Rose Absolute also helps balance skin tone as well as being restorative. Overall, I believe this cleanser is definitely helping my skin. The gentle exfoliation it gives my skin in the morning is extremely refreshing, without being too rough on my skin. I also enjoy the ingredients such as the ground almonds as you are made aware of the fact that you are using natural products. Although this product is fab, be warned that it doesn't have the best scent ever! (This cleanser is also vegan)

Tea Tree Toner Water

The second product I bought was this toner. I am extremely lazy when it comes to using toner, therefore I thought using a spray was a great solution for this. Whenever I use toner I can tell there is an improvement in my skin, so I was desperate to find one that would good for my skin type. Due to being acne prone, Tea Tree is a must for me. Tea tree is antibacterial which helps eliminate spots forming on my skin. Therefore, it is a great product to use in both my morning and evening skincare routines as it removes any bacteria that has gathered on my skin during the day and night. As well as this, the Juniperry Water in the toner is amazing as it's antiseptic, helping keep the skin clean and clear! This is definitely my favourite skincare product at the moment. (This toner is also vegan)

Cupcake (Face Mask)

Finally, this face mask was the final product that I purchased. The face mask claims to be great for both oily and teenage skin (aka me!). The Cocoa Powder and Rhassoul Mud help draw out imperfections and give the skin a deep cleanse. As well as this, the cocoa powder in the mask makes it smell delicious (and makes me hungry for chocolate). The Vanilla Absolute also helps give the mask it's sweet smell. Finally, the Fresh Mint helps to tone the skin. On the container is says to keep the mask on for 5-10 minutes. Overall, this product is amazing at giving my skin a deep clean and it's definetely a new favourite face mask.

Overall, I think all of these products work extremely well for my combination skin. I have noticed a considerable difference in my skin since incorporating them into my skincare routine. The next products on my wish list from Lush are obviously a moisturiser, the Curly Wurly shampoo and the Jungle solid conditioner. What are your favourite Lush products?
