Two Weeks in Spain | Barcelona and Tarragona

Tuesday, 17 July 2018

I recently came back from my holiday to Spain, and let me tell you...it was very much needed. I didn't actually realise just how stressed I was until going away on this trip. I very well know that I am naturally a very stressy person. Even if I have submitted all my deadlines, checked my bank account, returned my library books, finished my prep for my upcoming seminars etc. I will find something to stress out about. It is literally in my blood to be an extremely stressful person. Therefore, I feel like a holiday was something that should have happened a very long time ago.

Throne of Glass | Book Review

Thursday, 15 March 2018

After seeing all the hype that the Throne of Glass book series gets on booktube, I thought I should probably add it to my TBR. As well as booktube, my friends Katie and Paige also really enjoy the series (and I trust their opinions), so that gave me extra motivation to start the series. The final push was the fact that it got reduced to £4 on Amazon, and to me, that's a good sign to start a new book!

March TBR

Thursday, 8 March 2018

New month, new TBR. Although it's a bit of a late post, I still wanted to share my TBR with you all. By writing this post each month, I feel like it gives me more motivation to actually read these books! Despite the fact that I didn't complete my TBR of only three books last month, I have challenged myself to five this month. This makes no logical sense, but I'm feeling up to the challenge. I only have one deadline this month for university, so what better time to do some reading before my exams in May. Plus, one of the books is a set text for my university course, so technically it's only four books, right?

My Poetry Book Collection

Thursday, 1 March 2018

Happy World Book Day everyone! I hope you're all snuggled up with a book and a nice hot drink during this cold weather. There couldn't be a more perfect time to sit down, get cosy and read. The snow is making me feel like I'm in an episode of Gilmore Girl's (my dream). Therefore, in honour of World Book Day, I thought I would share with you my small poetry collection. I don't have all my poetry books with me as I am currently at university and could only bring so many books with me but I love poetry, so I thought it would be fitting to share my favourite collections with you.

Mini Book Haul

Sunday, 25 February 2018

Lately, I have acquired a few new books so I thought I would write a mini book haul blog post. Like I have said in a few of my previous posts, I am determined to read more this year. Booktube definitely revitalised something in me that has made me want to read a lot more again! Also, I am getting very fed up of wanting to read, but just not doing so. So, I am giving myself a kick up the butt.

Call Me By Your Name | Film Review

Monday, 19 February 2018

Based on the 2007 novel of the same name by Andre Aciman, Call Me By Your Name is a fantastic coming-of-age drama adaptation. From the cinematography to the soundtrack, everything just felt right. Even better, it's set in the 80's. The film is directed by Luca Guadagnino and is an adaptation of 2007 novel of the same by, written by Andre Aciman.

Animal Farm | Book Review

Sunday, 11 February 2018

So, if you have read my previous blog post, you will know that I decided I really want to commit myself to reading more non-university books. I love books, but sadly I'm not the biggest reader. I am very easily distracted and find it hard to just sit down, relax and snuggle up with a book. However, I have recently had a bit of an epiphany and realised what I want to do after university (which will be discussed in a future blog post). This has really given me the motivation to read more, as well as start my blog and youtube channel.

February Bullet Journal Setup

Sunday, 4 February 2018

This year I decided to give myself a kick in the butt when it comes to organisation. It wasn't necessarily a New Year's resolution, just more of a lifestyle change. So what better way than to start using a bullet journal? I have wanted to start a bullet journal since the end of 2016. However, I always felt nervous and lacked the confidence due to the beautiful spreads that you can see on Instagram and Pinterest. After watching a large amount of bullet journal videos, I realised that I didn't have to be the next Van Gogh in order to start my own journal.

Get To Know Me

Saturday, 27 January 2018

Hi there, nice to meet you! I'm Holly, aka Holly Petals. I thought I would tell you a little bit about myself. I'm a twenty-year-old student as well as the occasional blogger and youtuber. For years I have wanted to create my own content as I consider myself a creative person, however, I always lacked the self-confidence. So since having a rather scary meeting with a university careers advisor, I have realised that life is short and I should just do the things I feel passionate about. This ranges from something small such as actually starting a bullet journal (something I've wanted to do for a while) to filming a youtube video (which was terrifying).
